Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was first recognized as the epitome of beauty after she won the Miss World
title in 1994. This was the point when she opted to peruse a career in modeling and after doing
some successful campaigns, she entered the world of acting. Her debut film was ‘Iruvar’ directed by
Mani Ratnam. Her first box office hit came with the film ‘Jeans’ in 1998. The movie which made her
an overnight sensation was ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’ in 1999. Over the years, her films like Taal,
Chokher Bali, Devdas, Dhoom 2, and Mohabbatein paced up her career. She holds 2 Filmfare awards
and Padma Shri from the Government of India. She made headlines when was chosen to be one of
the jury members at the Cannes Film Festival. Mattel came out with a special edition of Barbie dolls
on Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in 2005. In 2004, her wax statue was installed at Madame Tussauds
museum at London.

Aishwarya married Abhishek Bachchan on June 20, 2007, and since then they have been termed as
‘Super Couple’ by many media outlets. In 2011, she gave birth to her daughter Aradhya and
embraced motherhood for five years, before she returned in Jazbaa, a crime drama in 2015.
