Navin Nischol can be termed as one of the most ‘underrated actor’ of his time. He completed his
schooling from Bangalore Military School and went on to learn acting from the Film and Television
Institute of India, where he won a Gold Medal. He acted in successful movies like Victoria No. 203,
Hanste Zakhm and Dhund, Buddha Mil Gaya, Aafat, Nadaan, Parwana and many more. He has
brought the same elegance and charm to television later with serials like Mahaul Theek Hai, Dekh
Bhai Dekh, and acted along Shekhar Suman and Sushma Seth, the serial was much appreciated for
exhibiting a great chemistry amongst its actors. Later, he appeared in critically acclaimed films like
Khosla ka Ghosla.

Navin tried producing a film with Praveen Nischol, his brother titled “Jaan Se Pyara”, the film would
have been released under the name “Navin Film”. With a star cast like Reena Roy, Rekha and Late
Amjad Khan, one would have bet that it had the potential of hitting the screens successfully, but was
shelved due to reasons unknown.

Navin Nishol’s first marriage was to Neelu Kapur, sister of the famous actor/director Shekhar Kapur;
and his second marriage was to Geetanjali, whose suicide landed Navin into controversies.
