Divya Bharti was a famous Bollywood actress who started acting at a very early age. Born to Om
Prakash Bharti and Meeta Bharti, she was fluent in English, Hindi and Marathi. She began acting with
the Telegu film Bobbili Ka Raja. She appeared opposite popular stars like Chiranjeevi and Prashanth.
She entered the Hindi film industry with the movie Vishwatma. Although the film flopped at the box
office but her talent came into limelight. Then she went on to do many more films like Dil Hi To Hai,
Deewana, Shola Aur Shabnam, Dil Aashna Hai, Geet and Jaan Se Pyaar. Even if any of her film didn’t
do well at the box office, her fanbase constantly grew. She received the Filmfare New Face Award in
1992.

She married Sajid Nadiadwala secretly because of several personal reasons and in an unfortunate
event, she fell from her apartment in Mumbai which led to her death and that was the tragic end of
her prospering career. Rang and Shatranj – these two films were released after her death and Sajid
Nadiadwala still dedicates his films to her.
