Madhoo Shah is primarily known for her works in Tamil, Telegu, Kannada, Malayalam and movies.
She was born in the Malini family, famous actress Hema Malini is her cousin. Inspired by her, she
always wanted to be an actress. Her father P Ragunathan was a famous movie producer. She lost her
mother to cancer at the age of 13.

Madhoo debuted in Ottayal Pattalam in Malayalam in the direction of T. K Rajeev Kumar. She went
on to do prominent roles in movies like Phool Aur Kaante (opposite Ajay Devgan), Diljale, Yeshwant
and Pehchaan. One film that can termed as the landmark movie of her career is ‘Roja’. The film won
the National Film Awards for Best Film on National Integration.

Her other films include Tell Me O Khuda, Agni Devi, Premier Padmini, College Kumar, Reymo, Surya
vs Surya, etc. She also appeared in television serials such as Kaveri, Devi, Soundaravalli, Aarambh
and D4 Junior Vs Senior. She has been hosting the DD National music television series since August
2019.

She is married to Anand Shah, cousin of Jai Mehta (Juhi Chawla’s husband) and has two daughters –
Amela and Kela. Amela already expressed her wish to become an actress.
