Born to director Mahesh Bhat and actress Soni Razdan, Alia always wanted to be an actress. She went on to grab the leading role in ‘Student of the Year’, directed by Karan Johar which proved to be a box office hit. Her second film established her as a versatile actress, as she played a victim of Stockholm syndrome in Imtiaz Ali’s film Highway. And, then there was no looking back as she played prominent roles in many films such as Humpty Sharma ki Dulhania, Shandar, Raazi, Gully Boy, Dear Zindagi, Two States, Udta Punjab, Kapoor and Sons, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, etc.

Alia also came on the board of ‘Style Cracker’ as the advisor and investor. She tried her hands in fashion designing as well, and once expressed her wish to style one of her contemporaries Parineeti Chopra. She has initiated many actions for saving homeless animals and launched a platform Coexist, for ecological welfare.

Alia has received several accolades for her performances, which includes 4 Filmfare awards as well. Alia is also known for her singing and has given her voice for songs such as, Ik Kudi in Udta Punjab. While she is lauded for her singing and acting, she is extremely talented in many other things.
