Formerly known as Ravi Kapoor, Jeetendra was born in Punjab in a family that dealt with imitation
jewelry. Jeetendra’s first key break in the industry was in the film Geet Gaya Pattharon Ne by V
Shantaram; however, he was able to make his presence felt in Bollywood after Farz released. He
went on to do films like Himmatwala Apnapan, Tohfa, Jeene Ki Raah, Sindoor, Hasiyat, Takkar,
Kinara, Udhaar Ki Zindagi, Chauraha, etc. Jeetendra’s vigorous dancing steps in several movies
earned him the title of “Jumping Jack”.

Jeetendra established himself as a versatile actor through various films and one of the few actors
who is yet to get involved in any big controversy. He has worked with Dharmendra and Hema Malini
in several movies. He has also made several guest appearances in movies. Jeetendra has won several
accolades for his performances over the years.

Jeetendra is married to Shobha and has two children – Ekta and Tusshar, while Ekta is a producer,
Tusshar is an actor. Ekta’s production company is called Balaji Films and they are into movies
productions also these days.
