Allahabad born, to be politically correct Prayagraj born Aditya Srivastava is perhaps the most popular “friend next door” in the film & TV world. He is our very own Abhijeet who is tasked by ACP Pradyuman to do “Pata karo, Abhijeet, kisney khoon kiya hai!”.
Aditya was spotted by Shekhar Kapur for a role in Bandit Queen when he was involved with the theatre at Sri Ram Centre for Performing Arts and subsequently he shifted to Mumbai to work in films. He started by action in TV serials and TV films and then moved on to films. He was spotted by B P Singh who offered him the character vacated by Ashutosh Gowariker and it is believed that he had reluctantly signed up for 26 episodes. By the time the contract got over, he was a household figure in Indian homes and one of the most popular characters in TV serials.
Alongwith playing Abhijeet, Aditya also acts in films and some of his major films which won audience admiration were Gulal and Black Friday. His performance as Inspector Abhijeet is so popular that he has played the same character in many TV serials outside of CID like Adalat, Tarak Mehta ka Ulta Chashma
