Born on April 10th, 1986. Ayesha Takia has been one of the few in the show biz who have been able to hold on her own outside the glare of glamour lights.
She became a national sensation when she paired with Shahid Kapoor in the famous Camplan TVC where she was the “I am a Complan girl”. While in the business of modelling she worked in a couple of music videos which resulted in her getting film offers. Her first film to be released was Tarzan for which she won the Filmfare Award for Best Debut Performance in 2004. Though her subsequent film were not great commercial success, her performance in Dor, where she plays a young Rajasthani widow won her critical acclaim and awards. She also won a nomination for Filmfare Award for Best Actress in Telegu for Super while her film Wanted co starring Prabhu Deva and Salman Khan was a huge commercial success.
Married to Farhan Azmi, son of influential politician Abu Azmi, she disowned her father in law when Abu Azmi who had suggested that in a rape case, the victim should also be punished. Ayesha is very active on social media, supporting wildlife, is a vegan herself and has posed for PETA ads.
