Pradhu Deva is known for his many qualities – actor, dancer, choreographer and producer, and has
worked in South Indian and Hindi movies. He is also known as “Indian Michael Jackson” for his
extraordinary dance style. He is also the recipient of two National Awards for best choreography
and received Padma Shri in 2019.

Born in Mysore, Pradhu Deva was always inspired by his father to learn different form of dancing
and, hence, he went on to learn various forms including Bharatnatyam and Western dance.
He first appeared in Indhu (Tamil) which became a great box-office hit. He then, acted in Kandhalan
with Nagma as the lead actress- it gained critical appreciation and 4 National Awards. One of the
songs ‘Mukkabala’ composed by A. R Rahman became a national sensation, and hence was later
dubbed in Hindi. Even after so many years, people still associate Prabhu Deva with this song.

Talking about his directorial ventures, Prabhu Deva directed many Tamil films and in 2014 he
directed Ajay Devgn starrer Action Jackson. The movie didn’t do well in the box office with Sing is
Bling he made a strong comeback in Bollywood, and Dabangg 3 can be called one of his successful
projects.
Prabhu Deva is married to Ramlath and have three children.
