Mangal Pandey:The Rising

The film is based on the 1857 mutiny when Mangal Pandey is the sepoy in the army governed by the East India Company. When the rumor was spread that the cartridge of a new rifle was oiled with the flesh of cows and pigs, an unrest began. When it was proved that the bullets were really greased with flesh, Mangal Pandey confronted the system. 300000 soldiers took part in a protest where Hindus and Muslims united to fight against the Britishers.
