Chashme Buddoor

One of the most popular comedies directed by Sai Paranjape, one of India’s leading women film directors, Chashme Buddoor is a story about three college students staying at a college hostel and the romance of one of them with Miss Chamko, a sales girl who sells a washing powder. In the course of events is Lallan Miyan, a pan wala who sells cigarettes on credit to the three students and never gets paid. A kidnap plan goes wrong but adds to the mirth and humour.

One of the Farooq Shaikh Deepti Naval starrers, the film also stars Ravi Vaswani, Rakesh Bedi, Saeed Jaffri with Amitabh Bachchan and Rekha appearing in cameo roles as themselves.

The film won 5 awards at the 29th Filmfare Awards.
