When the middle-class bank executive Raj Malhotra (Amitabh Bachchan) finally retires from his job, he expects his four children to take him and his wife, Pooja (Hema Malini) in and care for them in their old-age. But while the elderly parents spared no expense in bringing up their children, the children find the parents to be a burden on them and turn hostile, splitting up the parents and taking them in individually.
