It is the only silent Bengali movie which is a slapstick comedy, inspired by Charlie Chaplin’s work. Gobardhan Das comes to Calcutta to visit his wife who is currently at her parent’s house. In the first half, Gobardhan mistakenly believes that “No Nuisance” sign is an address. He, along with his friends visits the famous place of Calcutta – Howrah Bridge, the Victoria Memorial and the Maidan. Das fakes illness at his in-law’s house to stay more and when he tries to sneak into his wife’s room, people think that a thief has broken into the house. The acting is hilarious and a must watch for a good laugh.
