A self respecting judge recuses himself from hearing a murder case involving his step brother and instead pleads on his behalf and goes on to win the case. The murdered man happens to be the real brother of the accused, who has broken ranks and married a rich man’s daughter and starts living as a ghar jamai. . Finally, the real murderer turns out to be the brother of the rich father in law. Swings, twists and a generous does of meanness has a packed dramas full of mystery and intrigue.

Music by Roshan the cast included Amitabh Bachchan, Vinod Mehra, Sanjeev Kumar, Prem Chopra, Tanuja and Parveen Babi. It was released the week Bachchan was hospitalised for the accident on the sets of Coolie and was a huge box office success in 1982.
